Pandemic Epiphanies Video Project:
An international collaboration of realizations had and changes made during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We’re eight months into coronavirus life and I’m willing to bet you’ve spent more time with your thoughts than you have in a long time. I’m curious to hear what’s happened there.
If you’re like me, this has been a ripe time of pondering - questioning things you were too busy to examine before and realizing what’s important to you. Maybe you’ve taken up a hobby and saw you a new side of yourself. Maybe you got more concerned about the environment. Maybe you look at home, friends, or time differently. Maybe you let something or someone go. Maybe you're ready to take a leap.
I'm willing to bet that even if it looks like you haven't changed, from the inside something feels different,
a touch awakened, slightly new.
For the last 12 years I’ve been a storyteller. I built my roots in newspapers and magazines and then found my way to video storytelling for nonprofits. I love sharing people’s stories, partly because it brings us closer together.
Stories remind us of our shared humanity and that’s something I think we could use right now.
So, I have a proposal. I want you to take your cell phone and record yourself responding to one or all of the following prompts:
What realization have you had about yourself or your life during this pandemic?
What is more important to you now?
What are you looking forward to on the other side of all this?
My goal is to get at least 10 video submissions and make this a multi-lingual, multi-national project so we can hear how we've experienced the same thing in different ways and came out changed, possibly a bit better for it.
If you’re interested, follow these instructions. Then, upload your video to Google Drive or WeTransfer.com and it with me at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you’d like to help me spread the word, please share with your friends.
Thank you for participating!
I look forward to seeing your face and hearing your thoughts.
